A charity fundraiser being run by Inverkeithing & Dalgety Bay and Burntisland & Kinghorn Rotary Clubs in conjunction with Great Western Auctions & Anita Manning

The Rotary Clubs of Inverkeithing & Dalgety Bay and Burntisland & Kinghorn are joining forces to host an Antiques Valuation Day on Tuesday 17th February. The event, to be run in conjunction with Great Western Auctions will be held in Dalgety Bay Church from 10am to 2pm.
Great Western Auctions are one of the leading independent auction houses in the UK and Rotary are delighted that their founder Anita Manning will be in attendance, along with her team of specialist valuers. Anita is a well known face having taken part in many BBC Antique events over the years including Flog It, Bargain Hunt and Cash in the Attic.
People will be able to get 3 items valued for a cost of £10. So if you have always wondered what an item in your house might be worth now is the time to find out! Nothing is off limits, items such as jewellery, watches, paintings, coins, medals, clocks, books and sporting memorabilia are just a few examples of what you could bring along. Where you want a large item such as a piece off furniture valued then you should bring along a picture.
We are sure this will be a fun day and one which will be of interest to many people in the area. We would encourage people to get along early not just to get their own items valued but to watch what else is on display, we fully expect there to be one or two items of real value brought along on the day. Where you end up wanting to sell something then GWA will take it away to be sold at an upcoming auction and will do so on reduced rates of commission.
As always with Rotary, the day is about raising funds for good causes. In this instance monies raised will be shared between 2 local organisations, STAND and FRASAC. The former, Striving Towards A New Day, offers local dementia friendly meeting spaces, providing support to people who are worried about dementia or might be going through the process of being diagnosed. They meet in towns throughout Fife including Dunfermline, Rosyth and Kinghorn.
The Fife Rape & Sexual Assault Centre (FRASAC) is an Independent Voluntary Organisation offering a range of free and confidential advice to those affected by sexual violence, as well as an advocacy service to victims of rape and sexual assault who are going through the criminal justice service.
Rotary looks forward to hosting this exciting day and to welcoming people from across the region to Dalgety Bay Church to raise funds for these very worthwhile causes.
